A Temporary Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available in the Douglasville, GA area to provide essential leave coverage from July 1st through August 13th. This contract role supports a 3rd-grade student, offering vital communication access both within the general education classroom and during time spent with the Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 sign language interpreting services to the student ensuring full access to classroom instruction and social interaction
• Collaborate with educational staff to facilitate an inclusive learning environment
• Adapt interpretation strategies as needed to align with student needs and classroom objectives
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards during all interactions

Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language with demonstrated experience interpreting in educational settings
• Comfortable supporting students with hearing loss in both specialized and mainstream classroom environments
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with educators and support personnel
• Reliable availability for the specified contract period and hours

Schedule and Location:

• Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 1:45 PM (approximately 30 hours per week)
